Born in 2004, Alma Bettencourt began playing the piano at the age of 5. From 2014, she continued her studies in Elena Rozanova’s piano class at the CRR de Paris, and simultaneously from 2016 in Éric Lebrun’s organ class at the CRR de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, where she obtained her DEM in 2019. From 2019 to 2021, she studied with Romano Pallottini, obtaining her DEM in piano in 2021. At the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, Alma Bettencourt has been studying organ with Olivier Latry and Thomas Ospital since 2020, and piano with Emmanuel Strosser and Cécile Hugonnard-Roche since 2022. She obtained her Licence d’Interprétation in organ in May 2023.

Piano: In 2013, she won 1st Prize at the Concours International de Paris (Schola Cantorum) and in 2015, at the Concours de Piano d’Île-de-France and the Concours Claude Kahn. In 2017, she won 1st Prize in the Orléans “Brin d’herbe” Contemporary Piano Competition, enabling her to perform a 20th and 21st century repertoire (Poulenc, Messiaen, Kurtag, Shostakovich, Reibel, Dupin) and improvise on several occasions in the Région Centre and Paris. She performs as a trio in “Nous sommes repus mais pas repentis”, a theatrical show by Séverine Chavrier based on Thomas Bernhard’s “Déjeuner chez Wittgenstein”, in Paris (Théâtre de l’Odéon – Ateliers Berthier) and Arras (Scène Nationale). In 2018, Alma Bettencourt takes part in the chamber music concert cycle “La Pochette Musicale” / La Nouvelle Athènes – Paris (Dvořák and Pepper). In 2022, she performs as pianist in a piano and organ duo with Alexis Grizard as part of the inauguration of the organ at the Musée Bossuet in Meaux (Gershwin).

Organ: Since 2016, she has given recitals and taken part in group concerts in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (CRR Auditorium, Notre-Dame du Rosaire and Saint-Nicolas churches), Paris (Saint-Antoine des Quinze-Vingt, St-Louis-en-l’Île, St-Pierre-de-Montmartre, Temple de Pentemont, Église Danoise, Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis, Saint-Eustache, Saint-Sulpice, Philharmonie) as well as in Fouesnant, Chennevières, Cunault, Montereau, Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Cherbourg, Briançon, Plougastel-Daoulas, Lannion, Quimperlé, Locquénolé, Guérande, Auditorium de Lyon, Lausanne, Fréjus, Vouvant, Saint-Tropez, Uzès, St-Malo… In 2018, she won the André Marchal Academy’s “L’Orgue des Jeunes” competition. In 2021, she will play in a duo with cellist Julie Sévilla-Fraysse, and participate as a performer in the Concours de Composition de Saint-Sulpice (Paris). Alma Bettencourt has premiered works by Michel Boédec, in particular Aleppian Circle, to which she is dedicatee.
