Emmeran Rollin, organist

Jean-Sébastien Bach

This first opus in the Rocamadour Festival collection focuses on works in different styles by Johann Sebastian Bach, a decision designed to showcase the instrument’s musical kaleidoscope. All the colours and possibilities opened up by the Rocamadour organ are on show: the instrument’s sonic power takes centre stage in the two Toccatas and Fugues at the beginning and the end, while its gentleness and finesse come to the fore in the Schübler Chorales. The album also reveals the organ’s concertante side so appropriate for Bach transcriptions through the Concerto in D minor.
