Paul Beynet

Pianist

A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in Piano, Vocal Accompaniment and Chamber Music, winner of the Concours International de Lied et Mélodie de Gordes (2014) and the FNAPEC Ensemble Music Competition (2017), Paul Beynet has been artist-in-residence at the Théâtre Impérial – Opéra de Compiègne since 2016.

He is a co-founding member of the Ayònis trio alongside tenor Enguerrand de Hys and clarinettist Elodie Roudet. Ayònis is keen to tackle a repertoire ranging from Baroque to French chanson, exploiting the unexpected alliance of tenor voice, clarinets and piano. The trio has performed at the Opéra de Lille (2017), the Scène Nationale de Quimper (2019), the Festival de Rocamadour (2017, 2019), the Palazzetto Bru Zane – Venice (2019), the Chapelle Corneille in Rouen (2019), the Théâtre Molière in Sète (2020), on France Musique (2017, 2020), and more.

He is also a regular guest with La Maison Illuminée, a collective under the artistic direction of Oswald Sallaberger, where he distinguishes himself as a chamber musician and soloist. He also forms a duo with mezzo-soprano Maria Mirante. Both have a strong attachment to the French and Spanish repertoires, and give numerous recitals in France and abroad.

Alongside his artistic activities, Paul has been pianist and vocal coach at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR) de Boulogne-Billancourt since 2013, and at the Pôle Supérieur d’Enseignement Artistique in Paris.
